Natural fibres soften with time. The way you wash and dry a piece shapes how it ages — kindly, or quickly. A few notes per fabric.
Linen
- Hand wash or gentle machine cycle, cold
- Mild detergent, no bleach
- Line dry in shade
- Iron damp on medium if you want sharp; we suggest you do not
Cotton & Mulmul
- Gentle machine wash, cold, similar colours
- Mulmul needs a mesh laundry bag
- Air dry; tumble dryers are not friends with cotton
Khadi
- First wash: cold water, separate, gentle hand wash
- Khadi releases starch in the first two or three washes — this is normal
- Shade dry, light iron
Silk-blend
- Dry clean is safest
- If hand washing: cold, no wringing, dry flat in shade
A small wrinkle is the linen telling its story. We promise it suits you.
